Yegelle Tezeta

Had to escape down to Malaysias Georgetown the other week. The return leg of my journey is coming up. Walking around the deserted city under a blazing sun, a melt oven in old brick and rickety and fading wood structures. Had some good Indian chicken tikka, some of that funky "OldTown White Coffee". The sound track of tramping this old but functioning city kept coming back to the timeless Ethiopian jazz tune Yegelle Tezeta by Mulatu Astatke, don't ask me why…

Still don't really "do" people if I don't have to, if it doesn't "give" something to the image. Especially when tramping aimlessly in a place like Georgetown.

Hey…ain't notting to it, Gangsta rap made me do it…(Ice Cube)
